Arizona 2-1-1
In 2004, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano created the Strategic Plan
for Arizona 2-1-1 calling for a statewide 2-1-1 system to facilitate
public access to health and human service and emergency preparedness and
response information.
In June 2005, Governor Napolitano launched Arizona 2-1-1 Online
providing a statewide, online database of health and human service
resources for Arizona. Through this system, the public can also access
real time emergency bulletins, emergency preparedness tips, disaster
relief and homeland security information and opportunities to volunteer
in Arizona communities.
Arizona 2-1-1 is managed by the Strategic Initiatives Unit within the
Government Information Technology Agency. The Arizona Division of
Emergency Management maintains the emergency preparedness and response
information on Arizona 2-1-1 and through 2-1-1 Emergency Call Centers
(activated by the Governor during State-declared emergencies).
