Chris Cummiskey

GITA Director and State CIO

Chris Cummiskey is Director of the Government Information Technology Agency (GITA) and State Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the State of Arizona. The Arizona State CIO is a member of the Governor’s cabinet.

Biography

I believe Arizonans want tomorrow’s government to be more responsive and technically advanced than the government of today. Children born in this decade should never have to experience waiting in line for government services or filling out countless paper forms. This generation will experience a “virtual government,” a government where any business transaction can be performed electronically without regard to time or place. They want a world where government services are tailored to meet the needs of citizens and businesses alike.

As Director of GITA, I am committed to the fulfillment of these and other critical Information Technology objectives. Our mission is to provide state agencies with the tools and resources necessary to plan and implement cost effective technology solutions that will benefit all of Arizona’s citizens. To that end, we at GITA are committed to forming lasting, meaningful public-private partnerships that serve both the business community and the community at large.

The GITA website contains a wealth of information on the services we provide along with contact information for these services. My hope is that you will find this information useful. If you cannot find what you are looking for on our website, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of my staff.
