Electronic Motor Vehicle Records Request:

The Motor Vehicle Division of the Arizona Department of Transportation provides motor vehicle records information to requestors in accordance with the Federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (or DPPA), 18 USC 2721-2725 .pdf document and Title 28, Chapter 2, Article 5 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.

The DPPA requires you to have a "permissible use" for requesting and receiving an MVD record which contains personal identifying information (e.g., a person’s driver license photograph/image, social security number, driver license number, name, address and medical/disability information). The Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Request form .pdf document lists those permissible uses.

Access to Records:

MVRs are provided electronically to government customers through the Arizona @ Your Service web portal. There are 3 ways by which you may obtain records:

• Interactive or Batch Queries (via a web browser)
• File Transfer Protocol
• Application Program Interface

How to Enroll:

To obtain records you must first register with the Electronic Data Services Unit of MVD. After completing the appropriate forms and obtaining the correct permissions, you will then be given access;
