Coordination & Planning
GITA achieves statewide information technology coordination and planning
through the development of a Statewide Strategic IT Plan; an
Architectural IT Framework, Policies, Standards and Procedures; and
State Agency Planning, Standards Compliance, and Reporting.
Statewide Strategic IT Plan
The statewide strategic plan includes IT goals for executive branch
agencies. The plan is based on directives from the Governor, industry
best practices, government agency trends and stakeholder input. The
Statewide Strategic IT plan summarizes agency strategic IT plans
submitted for the last three years and provides highlights of
accomplishments, objectives and associated performance metrics for
strategic initiatives for the coming year.
Architectural Guidelines, Policies, Standards and Procedures
Enterprise Architecture Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a comprehensive targeted framework for
information technology and business processes that supports Arizona’s
strategic plan. EA facilitates the application of information technology
to business initiatives and objectives and aids subsequent change in an
orderly, efficient manner by describing a target direction for current
and future technologies and activities, supported by underlying
principles, standards, and best practices.
Policies Standards and Procedures Statewide IT Policies, Standards, and Procedures are developed based on
EA strategies and framework.
Service Oriented Architecture Service Oriented Architecture seeks to streamline and share common
customer services and eliminate unnecessary redundancy among State
agencies with overlapping business processes.
State Agency IT Planning, Standards Compliance, and Reporting
Each year, each executive branch agency develops an agency information
technology strategic plan, updates their current IT inventory holdings,
and completes an infrastructure and security standards compliance
assessment. These planning documents are submitted to GITA Online.
