Arizona Interagency Radio System

The Arizona Interagency Radio System (AIRS) is a suite of full-time, cross-banded mutual aid channels designed to provide interoperable communications capability to first responders of police, fire, and EMS agencies, as well as other personnel of municipal, county, state, tribal, federal agencies and approved non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) performing public safety activities. Communications Unit Leader (COML) Standards

A Communication Unit Leader (COML) is defined by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a person that plans and manages the technical and operational aspects of the communications function during an all-hazards incident or event. The COML plays a critical role within the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
