Arizona Certified Information Security Practitioner
To raise
awareness of information security practices among government employees
and encourage protection of sensitive State information and mission
critical technology systems, the Government Information Technology
Agency - Statewide Information Security and Privacy Office has developed
a new Arizona Certified Information Security Practitioner Program.
The Arizona CISP program can provide State employees with relevant
skills and foundational competencies necessary to accomplish the
security responsibilities associated with government technology jobs.
The program integrates many security skills and competencies of various
functional specialties into a common body of knowledge, thereby
presenting a multi-disciplinary approach to concepts, issues, and
principles, striving to produce IT security specialists.
The security training follows well developed US and international
standards, industry best practice methodologies, and technology in the
security field. The CISP covers Access Control, Application and
Operational Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery,
Cryptography (Encryption), Legal and Ethics, Physical Security, Security
Architecture, and Telecommunications/Network Security.
The certification program consists of an intensive, week long class
taught by a certified subject matter expert. Upon completion of the
class, students take a comprehensive exam to measure aptitude. In
addition, a one-half day follow-up GITA/SISPO class will present the
important security synergies of CoBIT®, ITIL® and ISO 17799. Finally, an
attestation letter from the agency CIO or Director is a required to
prove technical readiness. |
