January 15, 2008 Cummiskey Names Mary Beth Joublanc Chief Privacy Officer of Arizona State Chief Information Officer Chris Cummiskey has appointed expert health care lawyer Mary Beth Joublanc Chief Privacy Officer for the State of Arizona. As Chief Privacy Officer, Joublanc will be part of the Statewide Information Security and Privacy Office (SISPO) that was signed into law by Governor Napolitano in 2007.
“During tough budget times, it is more important than ever to protect sensitive
state and citizen information from compromise,” said Cummiskey. “Mary Beth
brings to the SISPO the knowledge and skills needed to build a privacy program
in the State and ensure that citizen information is protected.” Joublanc’s tenure as Arizona Chief Privacy Officer begins January 28, 2008.
SISPO is the strategic planning, facilitation and coordination office for
information technology security, citizen privacy, and the protection of
technology infrastructure in the State.
