New GITA Website Goes LIVE

Fresh Look and Web 2.0 integration for increased service and transparency

PHOENIX – GITA unveiled its new website, integrating new features such as video and interactive graphics. The new site creates a more information rich site with better organized content.

“The website creates a way for Arizona citizens to interact with GITA,” noted Director Chad Kirkpatrick, “creating ease of use and interactivity brings value to our visitors.”  The GITA website can be found at http://www.azgita.gov.

The website redesign is part of an initiative to create a consistent look and feel for citizens when visiting and utilizing all state offices online.  Other agency website who have recently received a facelift include the Arizona State Board of Nursing (http://www.azbn.gov/), Arizona Department of Water Resources (http://www.azwater.gov/azdwr/), Arizona Department of Racing (http://www.azracing.gov/), and AHCCCS (http://www.azahcccs.gov/).

GITA has also launched a Facebook page and Twitter feed.  Many agencies are using Twitter, but the utilization of Facebook by GITA as a method for reaching out to stakeholders is a first among Arizona state government agencies.

“By taking advantage of the new social media tools,” said Director Chad Kirkpatrick, “GITA can reach a wider audience and better communicate its initiatives.”

Interested persons can receive GITA tweets at http://twitter.com/azgita.  The Facebook site is Arizona Government Information Technology Agency.  Both can both be accessed from the GITA website.
