GITA Announces
the Launch of Redesigned AZ.gov Website
PHOENIX, ARIZONA – Chad Kirkpatrick, Director of the State of Arizona Government
Information Technology Agency (GITA), today announced the launch of Arizona’s
new and revised website, AZ.gov. The
updated site provides a more citizen friendly format that allows users the
ability to access state information quickly and efficiently as is the
culmination of a long-standing project that began in the summer of 2008. It
builds upon the requests from citizens to be able to access the state resources
from one website.
“The
increase of online services available from the State has risen dramatically over
the last few years, and many citizens are taking advantage of these offerings,”
stated GITA Director and State CIO, Chad Kirkpatrick. “These tools, available to
all our agencies, increase effectiveness and cost savings to the state agencies
and to the citizens of Arizona. GITA has realized an unprecedented level of
collaboration with all state agencies to complete this redesign project.”
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer noted the completion of the redesign stating, “This
update focuses on the needs of Arizonans. I firmly believe that modernizing this
tool will lead to critical cost savings and efficiency at a time when savings
and increased efficiencies are critically important.”
All state departments, agencies, boards and commissions are linked directly to
AZ.gov, and it was built as a resource, tool and guide to navigating government
services. It is part of a larger website redesign to take advantage of emerging
web technologies and create a consistent look and feel among all state agency
websites. The website redesigns will be completed by the end of this year.
